What is a member?
The purpose of members is to ensure the best interests of the charity and its core and to enable any significant changes to the charity and how it operates be decided in a fair and democratic manner. One of the main aspects of being a Member is the nomination, election and appointment of the executive committee (Board of Trustees); this is done annually by way of Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Roles and responsibilities
As a member you will be invited to attend the charities AGM each year, notice of the same will usually be provided to you in writing at least 21 days in advance of the intended date. To enable the charity to operate properly it is important that as many members as possible attend the AGM so as to enable the required voting procedures to be met. Therefore this should be considered carefully should you be interested in becoming a member.

How to become a member of CPC Kent

 Applicants for membership will be asked to:

• Complete a membership application form
• Attend an informal interview with at least one currently serving trustee
• Attend AGM’s
• Offer services on a voluntary basis for at least two events a year
